Welcome to our box creation service. There are many things to consider when creating your custom box.
Function
How will you use this box. Will it be kept inside or outside? What type of joinery (ie. miter w/spline, box joint. dovetail joint)
Size
What are the dimensions of the box? What thickness do you want for the sides, top and bottom?
Most of my decorative boxes are under 12 inches for reference.
(Default thickness is approx 1/2 inch)
Wood
I can work with a variety of woods and give consultation on the best variety for the job. I source my wood from a variety of online and local resources.
Inlay or Carving
Do you want epoxy inlay, wood inlay of contrasting colors or wood carving. I can carve from any vector based image (SVG, STL etc). The image(s) can be provided or purchased on line from a variety of vendors. I can do some conversion from photo/writing to vector images.
Finish
Then we choose what finishes we want. I can provide a variety of finishes including polyurethane.
